Background
John has spent most of his career in software engineering, with a brief early detour into finance recruitment. He spent nine years at a digital agency in London, progressing from Senior Developer to Lead, eventually becoming Managing Director. He then moved to Deskpro, a SaaS helpdesk platform, where he led the frontend team through a complete UI overhaul, introducing modern technologies like React, TypeScript, and Apollo. After four years at Deskpro, he joined Genie to continue building seamless, intuitive user experiences.

Job Role
As Lead Frontend Engineer, John ensures Genie’s UI is intuitive, modern, and easy to navigate, while mentoring the team and refining development workflows.
Outside of Work
John enjoys rock climbing, music production, and skiing. He also loves spending time outdoors—whether hiking, camping, or relaxing by the beach.
